This transformed my porch into a very elegant/rustic style porch. Easy to install. I only wish I framed in the windows with trim because now I need to paint the exposed cuts. But well worth it. More than double the time and money if I installed stone. Took me an hour to remove the old siding and around 6-7 hours to install, but wow. What a result.

These beams were everything we hoped for when we selected them. We finished off a bedroom and had the beams put across the ceiling. They were rustic and looked real. No one can believe they are not real wood. I would highly recommend them.

I was pleasantly surprised with this product. I was able to put a stone veneer directly on top of tile using liquid nails, and it's solid. It has very little give and looks great! It cuts easily with a circular saw, and I was able to cut, install and touch up in about 8 hrs. It's a short weekend project. Here are some recommendations:
Figure out how you will install the 2 x 4 panels before cutting. I was able to complete a full project using only 2 panels. They aren't inexpensive, so it's important to measure twice and cut once. The cut edges look sharp and uniform. You will probably want to break up the flat edge using a dremel. Find the faux seams between rocks and just create some lines that give the impression of separation / depth between stones. Then, using the touch up paint, put down a layer of dark gray (mix black and base) in the cracks you create. This will break up the cut edge and give the look of individual stones. Also, put down a small coat of base color on the exposed foam where your cuts are. This creates a uniform start to any other colors you paint to match the stones. You will need to purchase the touch up kit for all of this. Paint mixing could be easier, but the colors are a good match. Overall, the wife and I are extremely pleased with the result. |

I can lift this over my head with one hand if I get right in the middle. My kids think these are a riot. Looks like wood from a distance but does not feel like wood and is hollow. Feels more like very compact styrofoam. The wood stain is on 3 sides and the 2 ends, the bottom is open, kind of like a trough, and is vanilla colored. The brown stain does rub off a little on my hands while carrying, but the beam has been outside for over a week now and the stain has not washed off yet even in heavy rain. I think it's an interior stain so I don't expect it to last outside, but will paint with exterior stain when it starts to look ratty. I have 2 of these beams, one a little shorter, and was hoping to make a bench out of them, but I don't think they will be sturdy enough to sit on. So, instead I placed them over a couple of wide but short steel posts and made a garden fence. I was thinking I could also turn them upside down, drill drainage holes, and hang 'em and use as a planter to extend my berry garden vertically. (My strawberries are going crazy and I'm out of room om the ground.) Could also be used as a garden border, but because it's hollow, rodents might find it a handy tunnel to travel by. So far, though, the rodents haven't nibbled on it. I don't have enough beams to hang up on the ceiling inside, and I'm not sure I'd want to. I think I'd want real wood beams if I was gonna go to that expense. Still, you could place vertically or horizontally and use as a message or kids' artwork board. Not sure if sturdy enough to install hooks for bags and coats but can easily use tacks or pushpins on this material. Very easy to work with because it is so light.

I was building an outdoor bar and wanted a solution for the face of the bar - it's a very large outdoor bar ( 10x15, with 4 sides). I wanted a stone look, but didn't want to bring in a mason. I wanted to do all of the work myself. So, I searched all over the Internet for a faux material that was strong, realistic looking and easy to install. I had never worked with siding of any kind and it was going to be new to me. I have above average carpentry skills and figured I could get it done.
These panels were EXACTLY what I was looking for and proved to be VERY easy to work with. I am absolutely thrilled with the results and the look is very realistic. The panels are not at all identical which was a surprise. I have no idea how they mass produce these as the panels have the same shape, but the stones are randomly different colors...just like in nature. Truly a great product and simple to install! |

I love the beam. It was cut into 4 equal sections of 4 feet each and spaced equally across my vaulted living room ceiling. Not too much wood, just the right look. It did have to be cut by hand rather than by using a miter box/saw as my ceiling pitch was greater than a 45 degree angle. Glue and a few finishing nails did the job. No need to tie into the ceiling joices. It's a nice finishing touch to an otherwise plain white vaulted ceiling.

After hurricane Sandy we had some damage to the cement board which encloses the crawlspace at our home on Long Beach Island, NJ. We initially had the damaged repaired by patching the damaged areas and repainting. Unfortunately, the repairs did not hold up. We went out an got a ridiculous estimate to replace the cement board and an even more outrageous quote to install stone facing. I came across this item doing an internet search and thought I give it a try. Bought one panel, showed it to my contractor and he quoted $1,500 for labor to install. He was impressed with it's quality and told me this would be a good solution to solve my problem. Went online, ordered the product and in two weeks it was ready to be picked up at a local Home Depot Store. The install took 2 1/2 days and I could not be happier. This product looks like real stone but is very light weight, easy to cut and easy to install. Also, the foam is about 2" thick which adds a nice R-Factor to my crawlspace which will help keeping my pipes from freezing during the winter. My foundation now has a very nice, rich finish that really accents the rest of the house.
The only down-side I can report at this time is the sheet are 2'x4' and interlock so when you need to cut for width there is some excess waste. Other than that I would highly recommend this product. (Take a look at the picture, you can not tell this is not real stone). if I was more handy, I could have done the install but getting a professional installation was well worth the additional cost. |

Excellent service!
We just needed to cover two 5 feet ceiling sections so this length worked out very well. It was easy to cut and the various installation videos made the installation a breeze. This is the first time I worked with faux beams and I can highly recommend it. |

I needed to replace the back splash on a utility vanity. Most reviews for this product were very favorable, so I decided to try this.
The panel arrived in a large, well-padded box. The panel is one 2' x 4' piece, light weight, and very realistic looking. I was pleasantly surprised at just how nice this panel looks. I wanted to take full advantage of the panel, and elected to install it by cutting it around both the shelve standards, and a wall receptacle. The first thing I did was to trim the edges so they would sit flush with both the vanity sink back splash, and the bottom of the shelves. I elected to try and do the initial trimming on my table saw. The cuts were effortless to do. The cut lines were crisp, and there was no tear out at all. I then fine tuned the cut outs using both a hand saw and file. The material cuts, and trims beautifully. It is a real pleasure to work on. The hard foam is very dense, closed cell, and as a result, working with it is as easy as with wood but much easier. Once I was completed with all the cuts, I had to do something with the now exposed natural color foam that was visible. I elected to try and just color it to somewhat match using ordinary wood stain. It turned out great. To attach the panel to the wall, I picked up a caulking gun tube of adhesive made for foam panels. I was concerned that any other type of adhesive could perhaps start to melt the foam. The panel adhered to the wall easily. The end result was a wonderful looking back splash that I'm really glad I decided to install. No regrets whatsoever...Somewhat pricy, but the cost of the panel is visible in the workmanship you're looking at. Very well worth the investment. |
