Several months ago a new clothing chain approached us with a concept of what they wanted for their new surf inspired stores. The faux wood beams had to be white, very light grain and be easy to install. 

We were excited to work with them on their new concept and help to develop their vision into reality.   

Our solutions was to use our custom raised grain material and paint it in a custom flat white finish for the store.  The beams shown in the above picture are the main center beams shown in the concept photo above. The beams are 24" wide x 12" high x 20' long. 

The inside of the beams have a specially designed mounting system that will allow for the contractors to quickly and easily suspend the Superior Custom Beams from the ceiling.   

The above photo shows a close up of the Custom Raised Grain Faux Wood Beam. The beams were finished in a flat white finish. 

Once the installation is complete, we will post finished images of the project. 

Today’s installation tip will be focusing on installing faux wood ceiling beams along the peak and rise of a cathedral ceiling.

Now that we have the faux beam installed along the peak, it is now time to install the beams along the rise. This can be accomplished easily by utilizing a piece of cardboard that is a 1-1/2 to 2 feet long and a utility knife.

Step 1:  Hold the cardboard along the ceiling starting where the ceiling and wall join together.

Step 3: Place the cardboard onto the end of the faux beam and trace the pattern.

Step 4: Cut the beam along the traced marking, using a saw or utility knife.

Step 5: Install the beam along the rise as a standard installation.
